Environmentally friendly, allergen-free bedding made from miscanthus grass
The miscanthus plants used in making our ZooDi® Organic Miscanthus Premium Bedding are grown on a German organic farm (EU Eco-Regulation control number D-BY006-45193-A; DE-006-Organic control) without the use of any fertilisers or pesticides. After drying, the giant grass is shredded finely and dedusted several times before it is ready to be used as an extremely absorbent, virtually dust-free bedding material that is perfect even for pets who are suffering from allergies.
Miscanthus is a type of sweet grass, which means that there is no resin to it and it is perfectly safe to eat – though hamsters and other small pets generally prefer snuggling down or digging into the ultra-soft chaff. One thing is sure and certain: Miscanthus is free from essential oils which could irritate your pet’s sensitive respiratory tracts. On the contrary, it contains natural components that absorb urea and prevent the forming of ammonia. Thus, miscanthus keeps the enclosure clean, dry and smelling fresh for a long time.
By the way, miscanthus is easily compostable; it decomposes quickly and then becomes an excellent fertiliser for your garden!
